Architects find the joy of drawing with digitalisation
NIELSTORP+ has big plans for the city of Larvik. We propose to relocate the railway tracks away from the bay area which allows for an exciting urban redevelopment of this picturesque coastal city. While the railway tracks will be placed underground, the new train station will be proudly situated above ground at a central location with spectacular views towards the ocean. Replacing the old tracks with a new pedestrian avenue similar to La Rambla in Barcelona will provide a green channel through the city. Stay tuned for updates.

On Friday, 25th November Øyvind Neslein, partner at Niels Torp+, and architect Herman Hagelsteen traveled to Hong Kong to attend the MIPIM Asia Property Leaders' Summit – an international real estate and developer conference for the property industry. http://www.mipim-asia.com/
Both Øyvind and Herman have a wide network in both Hong Kong and China. Øyvind is project leader for China Easter Airlines head office in Shanghai (245,000m²) as well as several other urban design and landscape architecture projects in both Shanghai and Zhuhai. Herman has eight years of experience working in Hong Kong, several of which as project leader at the American company Arquitectonica.
In addition to the conference, the pair held several meetings with developers during their stay, presenting to companies such as Hongkong Land, Henderson Land Development, Hang Lung Properties, SWIRE Properties and Lan Kwai Fong Group our architectural philosophy, past projects, our broad competence , and how we conduct our work in China. The meetings were very positive – the projects that held particular appeal were the masterplan of Tjuvholmen and our open-plan office designs, demonstrating our relevance and potential in the Asian market. The trip was also a good chance to meet with Arup Aviation, our partners on the China Eastern Airlines head office project, to discuss plans for future collaboration.
We always love visiting Hong Kong and our enthusiasm has certainly not dampened after our successful trip in December, expanding our contact network and opportunities in this exciting part of the world.

It started out with 19 architects who all wanted to join in the prestigious competition to design the new national government quarter in central Oslo. Now in the final round, it is seven groups remaining. The groups, made up by several architects and engineers due to the scope and complexity of the development, have all previously designed buildings that have received significant attention. Today Statsbygg has picked out those who go further in the competition, and we are proud to be one of them. Our team consists of: Niels Torp+ Architects, HRTB Architects, Code architecture, Grindaker landscape architects, bare bakke landscape architects, WSP Norway, Høyer Finseth, Unionconsult, AJL, Deltatek and ECT

We have a long tradition of creating humane architecture. People are at the center when we design houses and districts. Our houses are broken down to scale, to a scale that makes people feel at home in, and feel a sense of belonging to, their surroundings.
